Whole New Myspace Method

I just came up with this not to long ago but haven't bothered giving it a try. If you don't mind doing some work this could potentially be pretty good.

We all know that Myspace is filled with unknown local bands and some of them are pretty damn good but we don't care if they're any good or not as long as they have money to spend we're good.

Here's the method.

1.) Make a profile saying you're some sort of marketer and web designer.

2.) Find a bunch of local bands that have no websites. Make sure that they have some sort of reputation so you know that they're serious about their band.

3.) Message these bands telling them that you are offering them a package deal for a website and more fans. Sell the package for about $200 or something.

4.) You can do one of two things now if you sell any packages.
1. - Outsource the web design and pay for some myspace bulletins.
2. - Do it all yourself.

That's it. If these people are serious about their bands they will consider it and possibly buy.

$200 is stupid cheap.

I charge 3-4 times that much for a custom myspace profile!

If you wanna tap into the wealth of bands/companies/etc on Myspace, make a professional CSS/DIV profile with custom graphics, make it clean, sleek, and eye catching...

Add a shit ton of bands, then message them and offer a package deal, using a myspace tool...

Offer something like:
Custom website with 5-6 pages including full bio and an embedded music player
Site will be hosted (you can host or you can buy hosting)
A video package (offer to shoot live songs and upload to YT; vids will be optimized etc)
A weekly/bi-weekly/monthly newsletter to their fans, plus opt-in boxes on the website
A custom myspace profile w/ their videos, fan messages, band messages, a link to the newsletter opt-in, etc etc etc
10k+ new friends within 6 months.

And offer it for a hefty but fair price, like $4500-$5500...

Or say you will do it monthly for $400 a month, blah blah blah...

1 month upfront can cover the costs of having things outsourced...

The idea works, I've tried it too many times to count already. The price is so low to get them to buy it, they have no other choice but to if they need a website. I say maybe 75% of the bands on there don't even have a website, let alone know basic HTML. So if you win them over, they'll refer you to other bands, maybe you can offer them $20 for each person they refer over, the more the better I say.

You may run across the occasional poor musician also, I had one guy even offer me weed for a website, too bad I'm not a pot head.

So I'm guessing you've tried this? If I was doing this I wouldn't offer all that but that does seem a lot better than what I said.

Having them refer people to you is good idea and I would accept the weed if they lived close enough.

You dont want to come off as a pushy salesrep.

It's not like that would be to hard to do.

I wouldn't consider making a website for less than two grand.. but i also provide quality design and coding not this cheap shit you see for 500-800 bucks all over the place

I sell an online marketing package to artists for $2495 and $249 month. Including website creation and myspace customization is an optional add on for additional money. I have a couple of clients I am working on now. Easy sell, especially since all most of them know is myspace marketing.

this is a great idea and a workable one. i thought about something along this line and i hit up a few bands i know locally. the response was incredible. now i need to find my outsource team and make a ton of cash on the back end with recurring payments and upgrades to their sites. good stuff BHW!

this should work out good. most people on myspace don't know jack about HTML or shit like that.

I've been outsourcing articles for a couple years.

maybe it's time I looked at outsourcing website creation and then make $$$ with hosting...
