Hi,
I'm buying a .net domain name - but I'd rather keep my identity safe. Can I put in fake WHOIS information so that people can't hunt me down on whois.net? I mean, I'm only 15 and I'd rather not have my information on the internet, preferably.

Is there any way that's legal to hide your address and phone number?
Mike

You can buy privacy for your domain. It costs a little extra but definitely worth it in my opinion. If you buy six domains through godaddy at one time, it is included free. I have also heard namecheap includes it in every domain purchased. I am sure there are many others who do the same, but I just use godaddy.

I am going through ASmallOrange.com - and I don't think there's any place to choose that.

EDIT: Just bought my domain through namecheap...thanks.

you have to provide personal info for .org
but for .net you can get privacy

Just for future references, never use fake info for WhoIs. If GoDaddy or someone ever finds out it may become a tedious process to unfreeze your account or reclaim your domain name.

For the name, you can put something like : Domain admin instead of putting your real time.
Then on the organization put in your domain name.
