Hello,

I was wondering about how I should register my WHOIS Info for a local site I'm about to start.

Since it is going to be local, I feel the whois info should reflect this right? Also, what about using fake or real information.

Thanks

Personally I have always used fake, never had any issues whatsoever. The only thing of major importance is you have control of the email address

you can also use private whois to hide the info from the public searches

If you wish to reflect the whois details in your domain. For that you have to contact the domain registrar and give him the details which you want to reflect in the whois result. It would be good if you give real details to the domain registrar. Since then only you will be able to claim your site in case of any dispute. If in case you have filled wrong details, ICANN has the power to the domain and allocate to other user. However such cases are very rare (1 in a zillion).
