Crazy??? Is all I have to say...I thought it would be more like 300 but I liked it more...The story line was alot better and alot more deep. There was not as much action as I thought but it didnt matter....One of the best plots I have seen in a while..

Really interesting story and characters in this movie. I wished I watched it alone, because my buddy I was with was really stoned and he kept crumpling his popcorn bag and exhaling really hard through his nose for some reason.

Also, lots of teenies were in the theater and they kept laughing whenever it would show Dr. Manhattan's junk.
 
Hmm in my opinion I thought it was a load of shit. The first hour was really good and and you would think that it would go for lie 90mins. But it kept dragging on, and it seemed like they ran out of ideas at the end which killed the whole movie. It was like the movie had 3 endings. Though I gave up on the 3rd one and walked out :(
 
It puts super heros in a whole new light...Not some super friendly guy who pisses you off and you want the bad guy to win....The good guys were the bad guys
 
I saw it last night with a couple of friends, I liked it! On one hand it was a 3h movie so I didn't get home until almost 2am, but on the other hand I'm glad they didn't cut too much out of the graphic novel.

I thought it was funny that except when he was wearing his suit, dr. manhattan was naked most of the time (as in the book)... except when he was in Vietnam... then he was wearing some sort of thong. lol.
 
waiting until I head to the nearest major metropolitan city before I see it.

It's been one of my favorite stories since 1985, and good or bad, I don't want the experience ruined by seeing it in some subpar arse fishing shack of a movie theatre.
 
If you liked the novel you will love this...it was like 300 meets Pulp Fiction meets The Dark Knight
 
did you see the animated comic? it's six hours long, and it comes straight from the comic
book. if you haven't seen it, you should! it's very well done.

To me it completely sucked. I guess it's one of those you either love it or hate it movies.
 
wish they were giving pills at the entrance, 'cause you may need some to get through...

while it was mostly true to the original story, i found I was dragged through 2 and something hours of boredom festival. it's simply too long. in my opinion anyways
 
I am hearing mixed reviews of the movie. I will go watch it and give my review later
 
I like the video a very brief understanding in Quantum physics .

Which is something totally bazaar on its own. Atoms in reality do not follow normal laws of physics . They teleport go invisible and a whole load of neat things.

So yeah I can see how they used this as a basis of a comic book superhero.
 
I loved it...I was watching someone on TV the other day where they can stop light and trap it...They also have the formula to travel faster than light however not the technology

I agree. This was definitely no "Dark Knight". To me this was for people who are comic book fans and specifically those who are fans of the "Watchmen". People who don't fall into those two categories most likely will think it's horrible, silly and boring as all get out. You don't have to be a comic junkie to enjoy the last two Batmans, Iron Man, the 2nd Hulk with Ed Norton, Superman or Spiderman. Those were all well made films based on comic book superheroes. I saw this movie in Times Square, NYC and people were walking out of the theater shaking their heads like "What the fuch was that" or "I what my money back". It was wayyy too long, weird and boring.

But hey, different strokes for different folks!
 
looks awesome, hopefully its not just like another hero movie

I'm not a comic book fan but saw it last night with my daughter and we both loved it!

For the first hour I began to think it was a bit slow but later realised that the time spent building up the characters made it all worthwhile. As a result I really got involved in the film in a way that I haven't done since 300.

In my view films like this are rare these days - Hollywood spends too much time on delivering action hits which pound the viewer with special effects but the viewer involvement is minimal. A long, deep film like this is like a breath of fresh air. Pity the cinema was half empty - I guess the rest had flocked to see a heap of crap like Shopaholic!
 
if you don't know the comic, you (probably) won't understand, or like, this film.
watch the animated comic before you see the movie.
 
It was awesome up until the last 30 min or so. It dragged on and on and I thought it would end but nope, kept on going.
