There are tons of methods, as well as guides on the forum that can point you in that direction. Just got to get to digging around, find a few or one that seems like it's in your realm.. possibly add a bit of change to it, to make it unique and get to the bank.
Virtual assistants earn $3 per hour on average. If you work 16 hours, you can earn around $50. But again, it depends on your knowledge and contract terms.

Start small. Scale up gradually. No successful person have made $50 right from day one and since you are into IM there's no guaranteed method.
If you have good english skills, start with content writing.
If you are good with microsoft office and stuff, start as VA.
If you are good with design, programming or anything similar just do that.
If you are good at nothing in particular start spamming.
