Who Ready for Wordpress 6.0 ?

Indeed, the webp conversion is not enabled by default but is implemented so that people can enable it if they want to.

What is going to change for us as thr website owners?
 
6.0 is going to convert all our images and all sizes to webp format and store on the disk by default. This is going to increase the web hosting storage size by 30% to 50% and so many developers/bloggers are opposing this move by WordPress.
My 10 thousend images are already converted to webp via the litespeed cache plugin. i hope this won't get messy...

Always make a staging site for your original site and test it out first. Though I think it is default off, you need to set it on first before it converts any images to .webP.
 
Looking for a while for this to see what's the good updates are.
