what happens when the shady shit is gone?
how was BTC and other cryptos traded before the existence of tether? back in late 2015 when tether just launched, BTC was already traded at $360 or so. so as i understand, tether is mostly just for trading 'convenience?'
on coinbase/GDAX, BTC etc can be traded for USD? not USDT? however, you cant really do shit on gdax and its expensive to move funds back and forth in between exchanges and coinbase. where else can only trade in fiat?
current BTC market cap is 142B while tether is just 2B. can tether really cause anything of significance in BTC value?
from what ive read, they seem to imply that tether's collapse can have some effects on crypto exchanges?
