This was the first song i listened to for a week, over 1k repeats, guy from Jurassic 5. Although its not old school, it's built like it, and has some young kids playing sax, part of a community project. A positive message.

I'm a fan of old skool & underground more than the newer "mainstream" drug addict rap nowadays.
A few of my favorite underground rappers that are actually decent and I recommend listening too are:

Other than the video above, I dont really care for Hopsin...His beats are far from anything that vibes for me, they are all over the place in most of his songs.

90's hip hop was the best, the east coast had: pete rock, rakim, gangstarr, nas, kool g rap, big l
west coast, we had the best g-funk: snoop, warren g, dogg pound, nate dogg, rbl posse, mac dre, above the law, dj quick, and of course the GOAT Tupac, etc...then west coast died in early 2,000's...GAME tried his best but he is the biggest dick rider ever and without a good producer he pretty much sucks.
the new shit is ok: future, rick ross,drake, the atl scene is really popular now but not as good as outkast. most of the stuff dj mustard produces is so simplistic but these junior high kids go crazy over it.
the 2000's was good too with llyod banks, cam'ron/dipset, dmx, 50 cent.
