Tell him you want to go with your own provider. If you want to be safe, buy from Digital Ocean, or Amazon. If you want low prices, try Hyonix VPS from BHW (I am a customer there, I like their service).

Because he will be getting recurring referral commission every month, so he is asking you to buy from them. You can host in any other reputed place and share the login details of your panel with your designer to work.

I've done some checks, they seem legitimate. However, they only have trustpilot reviews, so bit suspicious there. But they are registered in the UK. You could always move your site once he's done it

Don't go with it man!
Stick with Siteground or Wpxhosting...they are a bit on the upper side money wise but you get what you pay for!
