What you should do is take the time to read the reviews on their threads in the market place.

Also check their iTrader rating before doing any business with them.

Google loves when a link/backlink has the below qualities:
1. Niche relevant - I mean the the website and the backlink website must be niche relevant
2. A backlink must receives some quality reads and shares.
For ex: A quality press release can be read by many and shared by many.
