I'm looking for a coffee enthusiast.

Whenever I go to the store, there is a coffee bean section, and they must have... I dont know... 30 different types of coffee beans to choose from, all smell different and all.

... I thought there is only robosta and arabica beans? What are the oh 28
.

Do you have a keurig? I love coffee as well it's my fuel for these 16 hour days. Anyhow, If you don't have a kuerig and you love coffee deff missing out. It's the best coffee I've ever had I personally love the Italian roast but should try it out for sure. :)
 
hmmm, i would be very interested in the answer as well. I do know that when i went to costa rica, i tried a bean variety called "Kona" that i thought was amazing...supposed to be super rare as well.
 
I drank coffee for all of a month. I don't do energy drinks or smoke or take anything that really stimulates the system and so for me coffee is like crack, I would get all shaky and sweaty. I liked the feeling at first but after a couple of weeks I decided the switch to chia tea. It still gives me a boost of energy but it's nothing like what you feel from coffee in terms of jitters.

There are different kinds of chia tea, I get the spiced organic kind and it's already brewed so all I do is mix 2/3 milk (I use either coconut or almond) and 1/3 tea and that's my new favorite morning drink.
 
What are you looking for? Bold? Flavored? I like Sumatra, but for flavored, I go for Hazelnut.
 
I love coffee, I drink 3-4 lattes a day.

Don't even bother getting grocery store coffee, it's already stale. Try finding a local roaster if you want good coffee.

Coffee addicted here. Honestly, there is nothing better than Turkish coffee. I strongly suggest you to taste it. And yes as Marusia said, Sumatra is a good choice after this.

What i learned from one of our coffee supplier [ we sell them as corporate giveaways ] is that even though there are essentially only robusta, excelsa and arabica variants, the place from where they are grown makes their tastes unique to each place. That is why pure arabica coffee from columbia tastes unique compared to pure arabica from the philippines. I love coffee but im no expert.
 
I like columbian coffee.

The commercial one I use is "Nescafe Espresso" (Arabian). It's great with milk in the morning. I love it!
 
I find anything from papua new guinea tastes like mud. Currently I'm drinking ultra fresh Jaques coffee from Nth Queensland (Australia), as I'm mates with the owner.

My supermarket fall-back is Vittoria High Altitude Mountain Grown. It's 100% Arabica but very low in caffeine (which is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on the time of day!)
 
Is Turkish coffee strong? I will be drinking it this summer when I go on vacation to Greece. If I like it, I will buy one of the little coffee pots.

Op, I'm not a coffee expert since I only drink about 1 cup in AM, but I think different flavored coffees are the current trend. I call them "designer coffee". Sometimes I make my own by adding a pinch of chocolate, cinnamon, or vanilla. Carmel is great....pumpkin pie spice is good during the holidays.

What people like apparently varies with regions. New Orleans has that strong chickory coffee and the Italians have strong coffee in those tiny little after dinner demitaise cups. I can't deal with strong coffee, but will often give it a try to be polite.

I work at starbucks so i know ALOT BOUT THIS STUFF. I prefer BOLD types of coffee like Italian Roast. Remeber though the BOLDER the coffee the less caffeine in it. So if you go to starbucks I suggest you get Willow Blend it has the most caffeine. If you want to jump on wall then get Ice Coffee its DOUBLE STRENGTH.

Crazy right but Black tea has ALMOST the amount of caffeine then a cup of coffee. I work around coffee 30 hours a week but I dont even drink its like that and its free for me. LOL. Thanks to this website I can now cut my hours from 40 to 30 a week :)

Also coffee come from only 3 places thats Latin America, Asia, and Africa.....its best just to put them in light medium and bold or how it is in starbucks blonde medium and dark.

Starbucks have amazing coffee they even grind it for you. If you grind it get TURKISH ITS THE FINEST of all grinds :). As for flavors I personally get toffee nut heh.

Seemed unfair to neg rep you on a IM forum in a thread about coffee so I resisted.

BUT

what about Hawaii, what about Australia (fledgling industry I know), what about India

And don't get me started on that abomination of Starbucks. They are doing to fine coffee what McDonalds did to fine dining.

BTW, you should try Blue Mountains Jamaica coffee. This is one of the best in the world and this is so tasty. Yum yum..
