Who here is a Punk fan???

I'll always love The Pistols and The Ramones. Black Flag and Suicidal Tendencies was "the shit" for skateboarding back in the day. I'm not sure if Public Image Limited qualifies.

I might be going to warped tour up in N michigan...
Like may day parade? I actually like them even though im not that into the emo/gay-punk music :-)

PiL qualifies as one of the most bad ass groups to ever make music to those in the know. They're also the godfathers of a lot of the more modern noise-y indie stuff that is getting popular now in hipster circles.

Well that goes without saying, just wasn't sure if they'd be considered punk...they did have some softer sounding songs like Rise and Seattle.

Some of my favorite "punk" albums:

I could go on and on.

Also Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Patty Smith, the Raybeats, Lizzy Mercier Descleaux ...

If you don't recognize those names, you weren't there.

If all you know is pop music fed to you by those whom gain profit by your knowing little else, I can see how you might have this opinion.

Yes, all I listen to is pop music and PiL were certainly pop music and not an extremely experimental Dada group who've had a lot of impact on modern music. Would you prefer if I had name-dropped Suicide or Fear? Or should we go back even further? Maybe we should talk about the early experimental stuff done by Steven Reich and John Cage that had a profound impact on "people who were there."

You can stop the fucking brow-beating, seriously. That shit is so tired.

EDIT: The reason why I posted the albums that I did is because they are far more accessible to people trying to get into "the real shit." You can't feed a baby steak, if you catch my meaning.

Exactly. I'll be going to see panic at the disco and motion city soundtrack real soon.

I'll say Black Flag and yes I think Henry Rollins is a GOD... I love a lot of the old 80s punk stuff... I guess I just dated myself eh? :)

Hell yeah, who doesn't.

"I want to f#$* you like an animal"....

LOL...yes indeed....lyrics that will go down in history. I'd like to beat the fuck out of Reznor...give him something to really get all moody about.

check out some

NOFX
Bad Religion
Social Distortion
Pennywise
Rancid
Dead Kennedys

Speaking of Pennywise and Rancid. They're coming to my town in the next couple of months. I hate to have to pay the prices but I haven't seen a good punk show in fuckin ten years(JugHeads Revenge). As for the beer, I'll take care of that before the event ;)

I thought NOFX stopped doing shows. I thought their last show was when they finally decided to come back to Texas after the whole skinhead fiasco.

God I miss the $7.00 shows and the $5.00 comp albums. I found a few places here that sells comp albums but they actually raise the price to $12-15. BS.

If anybody knows some good comp albums to download let me know, I'm dying over here:)

My Chemical Romance! hahahahaha (sorry dude)
