    Hi guys,

Just wondering who here has health issues that effect their lives and what are they?

I am battling a few issues at the minute and its difficult some days to put in a full days work with IM.

    ^^ what eli said.

Heck for me this entire year has been a massive pain. I have had 3-4 surgeries and I am going in for another on the 28th. Though the others were fairly minor this one is quite major as it has been an on going problem for many years. All up if not for private health insurance I would of spent close to $20,000 this year alone.

What I said before makes me sound like a middle aged man with a lot of health problems. I am actually 21 years old but I have ignored these health problems because of a number of reasons the main ones being 1. they were embarrassing to me and 2. when I did try to say something was wrong to my parents they thought it was something else (and my mum in particular has this odd way with her speech to make anything sound like a fact, while I love my mum and know she only wants the best sometimes she is wrong so don't believve that bull crap about mother's knowing best) so I never bothered to investigate.

So what to take away form this? no one knows your body better than you, if you think something is wrong do something about it.

So far nothing major. But I'll try to get myself to grave before I hit 30 so that I wouldn't have to suffer stuff like that ever.

I have a major migraine problem in the form of head ache and I deal it with morning jog, exercise, meditation and lots of water. I have been sitting front of computer for 12 hrs daily so the problem is quite obvious. Another initiative which I have taken is to cut down the number of hours I spend front of computer. Earlier, I used to spend 16 hrs front of the computer, now it's 12 and I am trying to cut it down up to 10 which would be perfect.

    Cheers :)

uppa839 - sorry to hear your having a difficult time man, I have never had a surgery before but have a friend who got ill at 14 and has to have them quite alot, I can relate with what you say about feeling much older, some days I feel like im 60 yet im only 26, I also ignored the symptoms that I had and just thought it was normal to always feel super tired, I dont know much about the american system but over here in the UK I get my meds for "free" and our health care is "free" - funded by tax payers in the UK, I think the NHS is okay but sometimes I get the feeling they don't have the knowledge that the american system has when it comes to conditions that are long term, I also feel like my doctor doesn't listen very much due to my age, do you get that happening in the states?

kirkonpolttaja - I can relate to that, im a little overweight myself but I lift weights and go jogging when I have the energy, my diet needs alot of work though, do you lift or do any cardio?

Seems like lots of people get backache from computer work also

Type 1 Diabetes. It's doesn't really stop me from doing anything, but I wouldn't even wish that my worst enemy would get it...

Nothing really. Never really get sick, other than food poisoning and I haven't had food poisoning in 10 years at least. Everybody should be eating a well balanced diet, getting out the house every single day and also doing 30 minutes or an hour of exercise a day. Your body is like a car, stop pumping the right stuff into it and talking care of it and it WILL start falling part on you.

My basic endurance is quite high as i can start running right after i have been in "coma state" for a week or two, i dont really excersise at all but i can walk and run forever.
I'm in a state when i just want to hog information and knowledge, train my skills instead of "wasting" time running outside, would be more convinient for me to have dreadmill or something at home but currently my budget doesnt allow that (thank god my spouse bought dancing game for xbox so i can randomly try to break some records haha... good excersise if you ask me! 1 hour of contant jumping wents by fast and you wont even realise it! Also i started metal detecting for outdoor hobby to take my mind away from contant learning and it's good excersise aswell).

My biggest problem is that i love food, i dont eat crappy food but i eat semi-huge portion of healthy food, should stop eating so much but christmas is coming so what is the point of doing it right now when my mom is going to throw a feast like every year? yes it's an excuse but i have to admit that i'm hedonistic bastard lmao.

Also i consume alcohol like every finnish person does, i'm currently drinking beer and it's 2:30PM over here and i drank 11 beers day before yesterday. My main reason has to be because of alcohol, if i would stop drinking for a month or 2 i would drop weight like a stone i bet.

I have asthma and allergies... a bad mix.

I have a growth on my liver.

I have these small little tumors in on both my arms, near my triceps. I had more but the others were removed.

I have a larger tumor in the lower right back area.

I also have a smaller (but longer) tumor in my abs - I though it was a hernia at first.

I've had arthritis in my back since I had a pole vaulting accident at 16 - I'm much older now. The pain has gotten worse the older I've got.

But... I work at a hospital and I've seen ALL sorts of people come in. So I know... thing could be worse... MUCH worse.

Take my brother - he was hanging a swing in a tree for his 2 year old son. a branch broke, he lost his hold and fell head first. Knocked out most of his teeth - and the rest are so bad they'll need to be pulled. He broke both his wrists and his jaw in 2 spots. He used to be a singer and guitar player. Now he's not... and probably never will be again. He has no insurance, so he walks around with a few broken teeth - some of which have the nerve exposed.

That's one of the reasons I'm trying to understand and get better at SEO. If I could flip ONE site for $10,000... I could get him the dental work he needs to get the rest of the teeth pulled and get dentures. But solid food ... STEAK... is just a memory for him now.

Thank God I have my eyesight and I can type. That opens me to the digital world of the internet and maybe make enough money to get him some teeth!

Well, I just want to add here since I couldn't resist replying here as I strongly believe we IMers should balance our routine. As sitting for long number of hours can cause numerous problems for people who are in their mid age or it could be anyone. Since I am 22 so far I have no problem but sitting for many hours in front of Computer causes some dizziness which is quite normal though.

So, what I want to suggest is to people go join GYM, which I have done since last month and to be honest it feels awesome to go to gym, going gym certainly does not mean you want to be like Arnold instead or want to be massive instead you can enhance your stamina, muscle power, endurance and all in all good health.

Seriously, I wanna suggest my BHW members to invest into their health, as good health is really a blessing and we should appreciate it and work for it, Without good health even money does not matter.

When having health issues I find it useful to remember that at the end of the day just being alive is a gift and should never be taken for granted.

Most human beings who ever lived are dead now, and all alive now will also be dead soon. Remember than next time you get envious of somebody in better health than you. Then change your mental subject and focus on other things instead.
