I actually abstain from meet for a week here and there from time to time. It's a great cleanse and really gets you feeling good. The problem is most people who go vegan think this is permanent. It's not. Eventually you will deplete your bodies b12 among other things and it will go down hill from there.
Someone else mentioned it earlier, you will notice any long term vegans skin becomes sallow. They look (and are) unhealthy. This part may be my active imagination (probably not) but I think they get a crazy kind of look in their eyes eventually too.
It's really just not natural for us. Moderation is key to everything and when we go to extremes in either direction we cause imbalances. Imbalances cause poor health, sickness and mental difficulties.
Processed foods are another problem too (I hear a lot of mention about fast food). That will kill you quicker than any vegan diet.
The key is a balanced WHOLE Foods diet, occasional fasting and lots and lots of water.
Looool! I'll go for the barbecue anytime anyday![]()

ThanksFor me as a hardgainer going vegan is not an option. When I'm not sleeping I eat every 2 -3 hours, I take up to 3000 kcal (12560 kJ) at a regular day to keep weight / have minimum gain. When in full work out ( 4-5 days Training a week) I destroy around 3500 - 4000 kCals a day. Cutting out dairy products is no real option.
Also vegan products to replace my normal food would cost a shit load of money here in germany. And I fart way more from that replacements, my wife would kick me out.
I reduced meat and replaced it with poultry and fish.
I recently read an scientific article that stated that feeding the whole world healthy by a vegan lifestyle is nearly impossible. Even if you cultivate land that was used for meat production you would run out of space.
Also the impact on the enviroment would be huge if large parts of world pop would go vegan.
So as always the truth lies somewhere in between, you're best with a good mix at least for your health and enviroment.
Am happy you aren'tno dear.
Am happy y'all are seeing what i am seeing... We on the same noteI have considered becoming veggie for health reasons but two things hold me back:
1: Most veggies (vegetarians) bore the fuck out of me (my Brother is one) and vegans are even more annoying.
2: Meat tastes fucking great, take a bite of a succulent steak and it is almost orgasmic.
