Definitely not emd only. Mine is semi emd, but emd's of mine also hit. I have more than 50 pages, pr3 or 4, multiple languages hand translated = Gone. Content quality was good. Hope they roll this shite back by tonight. So depressing dealing with this crap 5 times a year.

Daily Hits : 11k
Pageviews : (always over ) 20k
Clicks on Ads : 8184
After EMD( Today statistics)
Daily Hits : 365
Pageviews : 603
Clicks on Ads : 173

Does anyone else think a penguin refresh (or something similar) was also done at the same time? I'm not positive, the site that took over #1 for a bunch of my most important kw looks like it should have been hit if it was penguin.

Bullshit. I have a couple of EMDs tanked that didn't have any links. They were ranking solely because of EMD and relevant content.

If you buy EMD, buy .com,. net and .org. If .com tanked, move the shit to the .net and redirect paid links.
I've had .com I forgot about ranking #3 and it was hit. Guess what replaced it at #1? Fucking .net EMD that has less content and the content is shittier with a handful of links.
These slaps are NOT also update. This is a sort of script that applies penalty to the domain itself. The best option IMO is to move to the fresh domain with no penalties attached and redirect your paid links. You'll get at least a short term relief.

I am confirming as well. NON EMDS HIT. first page to nowhere to be found. Im guessing its an update refresh to derank sites with poorly spun backlinks..

I got few EMDs with few content 5 posts and even 15-25 posts per domain they also got penalized.Even Big giants with non EMDs i saw in competitive keywords also got heavily penalized. It is not only EMD roll out algo they also targeting heavy link building websites in my opinion :noidea:.

Thanks for that response. Some EMDs at my chosen niche/keyword are still ranking high. I have far more good articles, good links than them. I dunno what went wrong for realz. Confusing eh.

Very confusing. I have some that were hit, some that weren't - my main site was hit for some keywords, left alone for a couple, and clobbered for others. Can't find any rhyme or reason to it yet.

2X EMD and 1 non EMD got hit ive been using one automated tool on these specific sites for the past couple of weeks for link diversity, all other EMD's that i didnt use the tool or any link building since April have gained or stuck? seems to me there was a little panda in the mix too

Yeah, had an authority site that in August lost its PR3 and has a PR 2 these days. Today was a bad day, I had about half the normal SE traffic for a Sunday. Site is white with a bit of grey, I have a feeling this one is about over optimization.
Fucking Google, my site is a site that solves people's problems, and people send me actual emails daily thanking them for having this site. It's a 100% no bullshit site and deserves to have a higher PR but it is too young yet. I was pissed for them dropping my PR and I believe it was cos I was messing around with G+. Other than that, the site is brilliant.
Fuck I'm pissed off, it's not like the site is spammy. Only have some Adsense, not even Amazon ffs! It also isn't an EMD and the name of my site is x10 higher in searches than when I started it. I think Google is getting too crazy with trying to get their "user experience" thing. Some of the stuff on Page 1 in my niche is stupid, non relevant, breaking copyright laws and has affiliate stuff everywhere.
Just reporting for you folks, I believe this one is about over optimization. I made the mistake of over optimizing when I started the site cos I was reading too many idiots who had no idea on SEO (namely, reading the warrior forum).
