Not every page can be manually indexed. Blocked pages (robots.txt or noindex tag) Pages with duplicate content
Low-quality / thin content pages
Private / login-required pages
Spam or policy-violating pages

Manual indexing is not reliable anymore Google decides what worth indexing.
If it’s not getting picked up its usually a quality or priority issue.
I Agree ,Google decides but even decent content is getting ignored these days… indexing has been weird lately

It’s often due to Google’s indexing system delays or temporary bugs. Usually, it resolves on its own after some time, so retrying later or focusing on sitemap submission can help.

This happens all the time when google's tool is acting up or if you've hit your daily limit for manual requests.
Just wait a few hours and try again later or better yet just let your sitemap handle it.
It's almost always a temporary glitch on their end that fixes itself.

Yeah, I’ve been running into the same issue. Every time I try to manually index a page, I just get the “oops something went wrong” message. It seems like it’s not just me—could be a temporary bug on their end or maybe some new restrictions they’ve put in place. I’ve had better luck just waiting a day or two and trying again, but it’s definitely frustrating when you’re trying to get pages live quickly.

This error can be for many reason like maybe you have reach your limit for indexing/network issue or you used a plugin on your site that made some site page get blocked for (robots.txt or noindex tag)
