what's the catch here? just because it's not the same numbers, this should be still twenny
 
:1: 42 is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything
 
4+4=16
5+5=20
6+6=24

Then 6+4 will be more then 16 and less then 24, not have time to do calculation but it's range is 16-24.

maybe it has more than one good solution, but why complicate it?

if
5+5=20 (10x2)
6+6=24 (12x2)
7+7=28 (14x2)
8+8=32 (16x2)
then
6+4=20 (10x2)

It's a test of logic as the answer you get depends on how you think about the questions and answers already given.

My thinking says that
5+5=10 but the box says it's double that at 20
6+6=12 but the box says it's double that at 24
7+7=14 but the box says it's double that at 28
8+8=16 but the box says it's double that at 32

So based on that thinking 6+4 (which =10) should be double that so the answer is 20

think in any way it will be between 16-24 with most favorable = 20 .

Let me try..

In simple logic, the answer must be 20

(5+5) x 2 = 10 x 2 = 20
(6+6) x 2 = 12 x 2 = 24
(7+7) x 2 = 14 x 2 = 28
(8+8) x 2 = 16 x 2 = 32
(6+4) x 2 = 10 x 2 = 20

but I guess the correct answer to the problem is 24.
 
Let's try in another logic..

5 - 5x5 = 20
6+6 - 6x6 = 24
7+7+7 - 7x7 = 28
8+8+8+8 - 8x8 = 32


so the value of first 6 is 12 and if we put that into the problem, the answer must be


6+6 - 4x4 = 4.
 
If 6=1 and 4=3 then by Tiger Principle of relative motion, it would mean 6+4=1+3=4. Simple as that.
 
I thought the answer was -6 :/

5x5 -1 would make it 5x4 = 20
6x6 -2 would make it 6x4 = 24
7x7 -3 would make it 7x4 = 28
8x8 -4 would make it 8x4 = 32

so....
6x4 -5 would make it 6x-1 = -6.

:D but obviously I was wrong..... I presume the correct answer is 20 :D Just goes to show how many different ways people try to solve a problem.
