Who are from UK

You need to get the message pal. Most or all of the people who have posted above me are British. Our country is the biggest sh1t tip in the world. It's hellishly expensive. Property is unaffordable. Crime is rampant. The health service is broken. Society is breaking down all over the place. Noone has got any manners anymore all, it's all me, me, me. Utility bill are through the roof. Noone has any money anymore. Oh, and did you hear about our weather?
Pease don't come, seriously.

No offense but I have noticed that a lot of British... people are complaining too much. It is probably like anywhere else in the world: while some ppl are working their asses off and pursue their dreams, others are just complaining, finding excesses and so on.
Noone has got any manners anymore all, it's all me, me, me.

You should visit some Eastern Europe countries and I can assure you would change your mind :)

The health service is broken.

Could partially agree with this one. Had bad experience with NHS. Switched to private clinics - may be costly but sorts your health problems out in a timely and efficient manner.

Every country has its own + and - .

Scotland in particular is a shit hole. Shitty roads, a super left wing parliament that released a terrorist and if the bastard that runs Scotland has his way, we'll be away from the UK and join the Euro zone and take on their currency. Seriously mate, don't come to the UK period, it's a pigsty.

As others have mentioned above; you'd basically be paying for the scum of the Earth to sit around on their arses all day and get the best of the best that the rest of those have to work hard to get. It's funny though, these gits are screwing the system, but if we blackhatters don't declare all of our income then we're classed as the criminal.

I was in Brighton 6 years ago, nice city. But the price of Houses to buy is too high... But also thank you for information.

Price of housing is sky high almost everywhere in the UK, renting is just as bad. I'm not going to bash the UK 100% as I know there are worse places to live but as with many developed countries it has it positives and negatives.

Without knowing much english you will struggle to find work because they are clamping down on this, it would be better to at least grasp some basic english 1st. Our health service is at breaking point as pointed out but the alternative is paid healthcare or no healthcare in some other countries.

Crime rates vary from area to area, fortunately I live in a relatively respectable area but within 10 minutes of my home I can buy just about every illegal drug you can think of.

One of my biggest problems with the UK is that criminals are generally treated better and given more rights and privileges than law abiding citizens!

Not going to say whether you should or shouldn't come to the UK as I don't have enough experience of the rest of the world but I hope I have given you a little insight.

To the guy who said this:

"No offense but I have noticed that a lot of British... people are complaining too much"

It's because we aren't blinded by misguided patriotism like most nationals of other countries. We know we live in a shit hole and are happy to say it as it is.

There's a lot of nonsense being peddled around Europe about how great the UK is. Lord only knows why. Make sure when you book your ticket to come here that you book a return because you're gonna be glad you did.

I'm from the UK and its a great place to be. But you have to be willing to work hard over here (Despite popular belief).

One thing though OP, not that its my place to say, but you shouldn't really be inciting people to PM you :-/

Well this isn't a tax forum and taking you though 13,000 pages of UK tax legislation is perhaps beyond the scope of this discussion.

Yes, we have high taxes on fuel and rightly so too.

The UK is bloody expensive to live in but it's not largely attributable to tax at all.

That's beyond the scope of this form as well.

Good and bad to UK...

All I can see is OP using UK as a stepping stone to get a UK passport for Australia & USA.

You can come to the UK mate, then after the "honeymoon period" has worn off you'll be thinking shit! what on earth was I thinking!

You said about costs in your mother land, those costs apply here too! If anything, they are way more expensive than what your already paying.

I would seriously think about what your doing!

It's becoming more common that eastern euro are coming here to work and then are homeless...

You better have your shit nailed down before you move here!

And I mean

- 12 Month Contract to rent

- Job

- And a shit load of savings for food, rent, energy bills !!!

I'm not trying to discourage you from coming, but what I am saying, is have a good hard think about it!

I know about taxes and have used calculator to calculate how much I will earn after taxes. You are talking that living in UK is so awful, for example I live in LIthuania our minimum is 400$. People earn about 400-600$ per month, now calculate, I live with my girlfriend and we need to rent a flat it costs 300$, than we need to eat also about 400$ and the payments for gas, electricity and etc in the winter 300$ , also I have a Car so also +100-200$ on petrol. When I will buy my own home? never...

So a lot of people from our country now living in UK and they are happy, so what I am asking about. And I am speaking russian, lithuanian and not very good in english. Could anyone of you say something about Peterborough city?

What you are talking about is not a lot of money, compared to UK.. We have 20% TAX...

Everything is so expensive!

If I where in your position. I would leave it 6 months... Work your ass off if your serious... get some money behind you and a job in uk secured... then then think about it...

England may look like a dream on the outset... but trust me! Your gonna need $$$$ to live here.

What I'm trying to say really is, the grass might look greener on the other side but it aint...

Im from scotland and agree with the vast majority here. Country is a shithole in most places. Go somewhere with sunnier climates and less tax

Didn't knew so much people living in the UK actually hate it.

I don't hate the UK, I just hate what it is becoming.

UK Citizens are losing all rights and the State wants to control all aspects of your life.

After the recent Budget, the Tax man will be able to plunder your bank account directly:

Because the nation has become so apathetic nobody cares and nothing is done. In my day there would have been a riot.
The Poll Tax riot brought tears to my eyes, I was so proud.

Yes, we have high taxes on fuel and rightly so too.

The UK is bloody expensive to live in but it's not largely attributable to tax at all.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with the rightly so, many companies are being forced out of business because of sky high fuel tax. Haulage companies are ceasing trading if they cannot afford to move their fleet abroad. Everything you buy in the shops has been transported there by some means and the high cost of fuel has to be passed on somewhere.

My car is more of a luxury but it has been a necessity at times for instance when I had to transport my terminally ill sister in law to and from hospitals, doctors etc because even though she was terminal she didn't qualify for subsidised transport for various reasons. There are 1000s of people that have a vehicle out of need rather than just a mode of transport and they are all being forced to pay these ridiculously high taxes.

After seeing it first hand (with more than just one person I might add) another problem of mine is the fact that sick and disabled people are being treated like second class citizens. Another relative of mine has just been stripped of her disability allowance even though she only has the use of one arm and cannot walk without assistance. I know there are plenty of shirkers out there who deserve to be stripped of their benefits because they are just lazy but to strip the benefits from someone who is in dire need is just plain wrong.

No it isn't all down to taxes although possibly largely so, corporate greed also plays a massive part. But thats another discussion entirely.
