Whitehat vs blackhat?

This thread, along with other terminoligy explaining threads should be pinned IMO. I'm a new to this site and a lot of terms are used over and over again everywhere in deep conversations. I don't wanna go "hey yo! what does [term] mean?".

If you do it all by hand the long way - people think it's White Hat, the minute you automate it, people call and think it's Black Hat.

Go figure :/
 
There are a mixture of white hat and black hat techniques that work. Buying links is where we get into a real grey area.
 
People get confused, almost all of CPA offers are blackhat. Rebils, selling email lists, fine print. etc.

People dont like to admit it, but this is a very blackhat business whether you classify yourself a whitehat or not.
