Whitehat link building methods that work now...

Hi guys. Want to start some new websites since it passed 4 years without making money with adsense. The old methods are not working anymore.

I want to start fresh and use clean methods and work hard.

Do these methods still work ?

-blog commenting
-directory submission
-2 way link exchange
All of these of course with anchor rotation and as close as possible to niche.

or should i use something else ?

With what methods you have good results ? Please speak from experience not from what have you read...

With all these google updates you dont even know whats working and whats not anymore :(

Also forgot to mention that link building will be locally ( country )

Blog commenting = full of spam
directories = very very low value unless is a paid or invite only
2 way cancel each other out and is hardly whitehat

Just product good content, share it on facebook and get a community going.

Blog commenting is still working to some extent, just don't comment in highly-spammed blogs.
Directory submissions is useless.
Don't use 2 way link exchange, it carries penalty nowadays.
 
So i should blog comment but on pages with few comments or none.

No directories ? Not even for start ? Ok then...

Seems like link exchange is out... what other methods are also available and clean ?

What everything because the way things evolve... everything is spam today for google :))

Also agree with above meaningful comments on other's which grow your traffic slowly but steadily. Use twitter and get lots of trees but few followers. Trying to grow that now. Have a nice day :)
 
don't forget about google plus, it is a best way to get positive SERP.
 
Guest Posting - On sites people actually read.
Blog Commenting - Manual comments adding value on sites which moderate comments.
Social Media - Marketing articles and hoping for backlinks
Forum Posting - Adding valuable insight and hoping people visit your site.
 
Blog commenting works if you comment on popular blogs and your comment provides additional or useful information. Since there are lots of spams on blog commenting. Most of blogs commenting system requires comment approval. Some may even mark your comment spam.

I can recommend guest posting and creating credible social media profiles for your website. Linking your post to social media will create a large traffic.

Hey, blog commenting still works and for directory submission, only few high pr directories out there. You can create and manage few web2.0 sites and also you can try guest posting.

When you are going to start a new website then the first and most important thing is that the on page of the website. SEO is not only the off page and on page factor is most important in the SEO. After making a good on page you need to focus on the content writing and social media sharing which can help you more than the other techniques.
 
Guest posting works very well. This is probably the best way to get high quality links. You still have to provide good content for it get published.
 
Web 2.0 and guest posting content head written then make 1 tire with high PR do-follow blog commenting use.
 
Exactly these methods still working but one word is making differences between today SEO work and old work that is niche. Which means that you have to work on only niche related websites, forums, blogs, etc.
 
I have to say that blog commenting still works fine, even though Google constantly denies it. A few spammy links from high-PR blogs don't stand out from natural link profile. Besides that, I fill my link profile with directory submissions, blog commenting to moderated non-spammy blogs and forum posting. And it works :D
 
Blog commenting yes,
Directory submissions don't bother with it and 2 way link exchanges are frowned upon by Google.
