There are several ways that you can invest 1k:

    1) Small banner buys
    2) PPC ads if you have a quality landing page
    3) Tools to automate your tasks for SEO campaigns

Your choice should be based on whether you have additional funds (ex. if your campaign landing pages don't convert and you spend the 1k on ppc ads.... where do you go from there)

If I were in your shoes, I would set up a landing page, set a small portion of my budget to use for ppc to ensure that the landing page converts. If it does, I would find inexpensive banner spaces and continue to test and optimize and finally, once I knew that the ad does convert with my target audience I would use all of the free traffic options available so that I could drive targeted traffic to the ads and generate additional funds

Regarding which cpa network, look for ones with strong customer support. Try moss affiliates, they don't have allot of offers but the support and help are the best.

My experience is that you will go through a grand pretty quickly just testing and employing trial and error attempting to get whitehat campaigns profitable.

I have spent months and thousands and still can not achieve solid consistent returns.

PPC is very competitive, especially on google and you will really need some good keyword research tools in order to compete
look into keyword spy or ispionage

CPV can also be tricky and I have tested many niches and offers on Media Traffic and Traffic Vance and only had a few break even

Media Buying is costly overall unless you go to Ad Brite or some "second tier" plarform and many have mixed reviews about them

I would suggest searching the web for torrents of the course Traffic Evolution as this is a great outline of everything other than PPC....for a good PPC education, you can go to biz torrents and get Gauher Chaudrys PPC Formula

    Good Luck
