Is it possible to have a white skin or at least lighter than black? :) The problem with black is that that's the worst color for our eyes and I already use glasses :(

Black skin helps save the environment, or are you against saving the environment? :)
 
I'm not against the environment but I'm against saving the environment at the expenses of my health :(

The white theme is only a choice. Those who wanted could use it the others could stick with the black one.
 
Black isn't a color, and btw Red is the hardest for our eyes to focus. Even if that was true, do you expect to die with pristine eyes? What good will unused eyes do you when you're dead?

I asked for this in another thread a while ago too... maybe i'm in the minority, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Main reason is that I can have it on at work and not grab anyone's attention from afar... A nice white theme would be nice. It would probably be a feature we would have to enable from our user panel and have a little switch appear in the header or something...

I agree with you that the red is the color with highest luminance and blue the lowest but don't forget that in the visible spectrum, black and white aren't present and that's the reason for not considering black and white as a colors since black is the lack of colors and white transmit all colors, so in white you'll have blue, yellow, ..., and RED, all colors basically! So, the energy of white is greater than the red and the black.
I've you've just read what I've said and understood it, you'll laugh since I'm arguing against what I've said before but that's just to complete the pseudo "explanation" of frequency.

But that's not the problem here, today on the web the majority is white or at least is created around light colors. During the navigation on the web, you see a lot of white pages. The problem is when you see a black one, your eye will have to do a lot more work to focus and will get tired a lot faster and that's not good for our eyes.

And yes, it doesn't hurt to ask, and of course, it would not hurt to have since only the people who wanted it would activate it.

I know that my English isn't the better around here and it's normal. I'm sorry about that but I always try to express myself the best way I can even if I have a huge lack of vocabulary.
 
I agree, when I first started reading this forum the color scheme was hard on my eyes, after awhile I got used to it but it's still hard to focus on it first thing in the morning.

That's the hard way... I already knew that but to have a nice result, you have to work a lot + stylish is not ready to FF3.

Installing a new theme is easy...
 
I notice it plays with my eyes too but i like it still. 'black' hat..black forummmm
 
i tried the other scheme, looks a bi weird with the orange, but after being her about a week my eyes felt at home with the black theme and it just grew on me i guess

The black theme hurts my eyes too. I'm all in favor of a lighter colored choice. I don't see why it would be a big deal, only the people who's poor eyes are hurting would use it. Everyone else can still read the black one just fine.

Pretty please?

Those who don't like to read white on black
and prefer to read black text on white background:

use Firefox with extension "Web Developer Toolbar"
and select CSS / Disable Styles / All Styles.

You will get a pure black on white view of the page.

You can do many other tricks with Web Developer Toolbar.
