White Hat Youtube Promotion Methods

Hey guys,

I am making a series of videos in the gaming niche and I was wondering what some white hat tactics were to increase my views. I've tried submitting to SU, Reddit, and so on but my traffic is pretty horrible even though they've only been up for about a week.

The videos are actually pretty good from the limited feedback I've been given, so I'm not really looking for a way to drive traffic to my videos then to a site, more to just generate views and subscribers.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

i am actually looking for something similar. I just need a place where i can spam my video link for a little. I know many of your on here have a special place where you can go to spam like a chatroom and gets tons of clicks really fast. Would anyone mind sharing some of those places?

Unfortanately, there is no place that is really like that. Any chatroom will just see it as spam, and you may get a click or too, but thats it.

Get yt accounts , proxies.

Write your own comments.

From what you said, I am assuming you are using the videos to ultimately give linking power to a money site, and hopefully drive some real user traffic via the videos. In order for the videos to get a good ranking for the carefully chosen search term, you need to do at least two things, 1) get lots of views and 2) get lots of backlinks to justify those views. Both the backlinks and the views have to rise in tandem to get the best effect. In practice it is probably better to get backlinks first because they take a while to index. Then ratchet up the views. How can you do this? There are inexpensive services here in BHW that do that very nicely, one good one is by w33dl0rd. If you can get people to comment and embed your video, all the better, but be very careful with comment spam because Youtube, in particular, will find you and ban your account. You must do it from multiple IPs and proxies can work but they must not be overused.

Personally I think promotion will make the traffic look unnatural. Look at the stats of other videos, most of them get their first SE hits via Google or other means.

Leave them be and keep churning out the videos. I am also white hat and I don't use any promotion at all.

Maybe I'm wrong but this worked for me when I tested my method out.

"white hat":
-Interesting Title
-Put link to site in the title: "Your video title (XYZSite.c0m)
-VERY detailed description (helps with search rank)
-Transcribe the video and add to description (helps with search rank)
-Use keywords that are relevant to the video AND the audience you want, capitalize each one. Use all 280 characters
-Use social bookmarking (socialb00kmarker.c0m)
-Comment on other relevant videos, comment on trending videos - but comment on the actual video. Inflammatory comments will get the most people to your channel page.
-Reach out to blogs that right about the topic

Get Tube ToolBox ( Search BHW for a cracked version or buy it ) and share your new videos with people in your niche immediately after your videos will be processed. Let's say you just uploaded a Halo Reach clip: Search Halo Reach most viewed - most commented videos on youtube and gather all the users that made a post on those Halo clips. Share your Halo video with them.

Your youtube account has a sharing video limit of 720/day but you can share your video from 4 more accounts , totaling 3600 shares a day. Some people will just delete a shared clip when they see it because they consider it annoying , some are inactive, but you will still get 500+ views for sharing with 3600 people out of 5 min work. Nice thing about these dudes is that they will rate and comment, so for 500 views you will have 50 comments and 25 ratings, more or less.

Social bookmarking also helps ranking in google, use social maker or whatever free service.

And now the hardest part,.. to go big you need quality, and the videos must be entertaining as well. So at first make sure you take care of this part. You see..if you send me a clip and I like it, maybe I will IM the link to 5 friends of mine who also play Halo and you just shot 6 ducks with a single bullet.

Don't target keywords like "Halo Reach" because you are not /machinima. Try to find long tail keywords like "halo reach achievements" , "halo reach story" etc and make sure you start your title with the keyword first. Try to find as many long tail keywords and in the end the views will stack up.

Add annotations telling them to subscribe your channel. In your annotation make sure you point out you will be making even more cool videos real soon. If you have money to spare, make a contest, give a free gaming mouse or something..make a story but ask them to subscribe in order to participate. Point is that they must get something in return if they subscribe. Having subscribers will help you in the long run.
