Hello! I'm wondering. How do I rank a website for a company if the website does not have much Content. The website is a simple eletrician's website which has the employees listed, some background info about the company and an FAQ. How would I go about ranking this website when it does not have any real Content and how would I drive traffic?

You can still build out a fair amount of content - put together a services area and have a page for each type of service offered along with some detailed content about why and when that particular service would be required, what the service entails and so on. You could even have some basic tutorials for common and simple problems that potential customers may be facing - just enough information to get them on to the site, then have a CTA at the end of the article for those who cannot follow through with the proposed fix.

Also, think about local here - what keywords are you targeting? If its an electrician then its going to be mostly local keywords right? So you want lots of mentions on the site of local areas that the electrician covers, lots of address mentions and also think about building citations as well as backlinks from other local and authoritative websites.

Look at reviews as well - get a review plugin or service so that you can push in lots of detailed and relevant reviews to the site - they will help with local SEO and they will instill confidence in prospective customers and lastly they also add towards the amount of content on the website.

Try to get the owner involved as well - if they really want the site to do well, they need to have at least some input in the content thats going on their website - it needs to be high quality, informative and also regularly updated.

I advise you to add more content related to de services the company offers, and don't forget to check the website's health to fix some on-page details that will help you boost that site's rankings.

Do all that @davids355 has said and use another trick of him put your keywords in google reviews make only 2 - 3 reviews from different ips and different accounts you could buy it to be on safe side, then build guest post and build more links on the guest post so entire power will fly back to your site.

Try to get links from related organizations in your region.

Electrical stuff? Is there some kind of electrical engineer board near you? Some other related businesses? Try to get links from those. Build a strong local SEO program, google maps, verified business, etc.

Pick all the low hanging fruit first then think about developing a content marketing program. Build a blog and publish content about products, standards, materials, tools, etc.

Driving traffic on your website means you should know for which queries you want your users should visit your page. If those keywords don’t have much competition ( very few other websites are ranked on google) you can go ahead with basic seo implementation. Just focus on few imp things:

  • Better information about your product, website pages should be crawlable and Indexable, no copied content or any other elements which are against google policies.

  • on page tags such H1 tags, title tags canonical tags sitemap robots.txt page should be correctly created. As I said, if there is no competition you can go with above recommendations and just analyses the progress, check keywords positions in search console tool, etc and make the plan accordingly. BUT if there is good competition you should start your SEO project as suggested above and addition to that

  • focus on internal website architecture and interlinking. *Focus on how your pages can get links from external sites. Here Your plan should not be limited with creating backlinks only, plan something where your webpages can get backlinks naturally. And important pages should get traffic from other sites ( ex: social media)
*Focus on engagement. Engagement is the key for SEO success. Landing Pages should be worth to stay for any user. Whatever the number of user you are driving on your page, don’t let them exit easily, try to engage them as possible.
