In terms of percentages, how crucial link building to the overall process of SEO?
Thirty percent? fifty percentage? What are the other components of SEo?

your probably looking at about 10-20% ... but it's the hardest percentage to acheive on a consistent basis ..

Other components ...
Domain ... name, age, authority
Directory ... name, structure, relevance
File ... name, structure, relevance
content ... structure, relevance, authority

did you see the little wheel?

and these are just the more important of them ...

Linkbuilding in 90% for me.

The other major components are unique and relevant content and a layout that converts.

Well you can't, or its very unlikely to get a website to page 1 without linkbuilding although you could do without a keyword friendly directory, page name so link building is definately up there as one of the most important thigs

I would say 30% maybe.
Content probably 50% and the remaining 20% is coding, domain ages, domain name, structure etc etc etc

No any exact number for SEO. As we know SEO is on going process so need to work regularly on SEO work

i would say 80% for link building. I still can bring front in google no matter how much crappy content u write.

Keep in mind the percentage mix will vary based on the given niche, keyword and your competition. As the others stated links, authority and content are the key components; however, to go into a SEO marketing campaign with a set cookie-cutter formula is a recipe for failure. In other words, you need to monitor your efforts and that of the competition as well and make mid-course corrections accordingly. Right now the secret formula is still a little more art than science. SEO is very big chapter there is no depth in this chapter uncountable pages in this book. i think if i done only one think for my site it will never come on 1 st page of search engine. so i need to do all thinks for show my site 1st page in every search engine ranking. either its link building or other submission or even on page also.
