Browsing the forums after the recent Google update is suggesting that scrapebox, AMR, Xrumer blasts and other BH SEO techniques are actually becoming more harmful than helpful in both the long and short term.

:google2:

I was wondering what the general consensus on is on this? Is now the time of actual quality content and manual high PR backlinks?

I think you're reading the wrong stuff bud. Lately, I've seen tons
of threads talking about how effective those tools still are even
after G's update.

Depends on how you use your tools. The USE of the tools is the BH

if backlinks aren't powerful G would fail.. and what makes backlinks? those tools =D

What would you expect a self-serving arrogant organization like Google to say about people trying to game their "secret sauce" system?

Go ahead play by their rules. You can always spend money on an AdWords campaign if the white hat fails you.

Seems as though I've got the wrong end of the stick, terribly sorry chaps.

So I'd be correct in understanding that google is only becoming harsher on poorly organized, over-zealous blasts with these tools? Thanks for your responses :)

Remember you are asking this question on a site called blackhatworld ;)

There is no consensus. Whitehatters will claim whitehat is better and blackhatters will claim blackhat is better.

The really successful imers mix them, and if they are doing bh they stay safe about this.

How on earth could any actually prove that Blackhat methods will be detrimental in the long run when the update has just happened?
Don't believe the hype - test and do what works for you. Everything else not substantiated by fact is BS

Use blackhat tools to promote whitehat sites...works for me. I don't see the point in BH sites throw away sites like autoblogs, I like quality content and quality sites, but I use plenty of bh tools to build links to them.

I also have unique content white hat websites and build links with bh tools tot hem.

I've been using quite a few BH tools for WH sites for 2 years, and as long as you keep a correct balance between the amount of spammy links and clean ones I reckon you'll be fine, just don't push it too fast or google will notice ;)

i do blackhat and all panda did was up my traffic... its all about what bh tricks to use :)

Agreed, but that doesn't imply that you can't have great success doing only one or the other.

Thanks a lot for your replies, it's made stuff wayy clearer :marchmell

Seeing as this thread is already up here though... I'll take the opportunity to push my luck and fire my noob-laser a bit more :flute:

What are the risks like for totally legit sites using BH backlinks? Is a legit site with tons of spammy backlinks as likely to get sandboxed/de-indexed?

and Gringa: when you refer to "clean" links what do you mean? manually creating high PR backlinks - or just higher PR backlinks amongst BH software blasts?

Cheers :p

The worse you could get from Google really is to be sandboxed, but unless you are really overdoing it, I have rarely come across cases where you get sandboxed for using bh backlinks. Use a combination of WH and BH and you'll have no problem with Google.

Just dont make it look spammy, have good quality content and Google will treat you well! Its been the same before and after the update!

If anything else, the Panda update is allowing many content scrappers to rank better than genuine sites, so I reckon BH still works.
