while checking my newly registered domain... wtf it got pr1

just registered it yesterday

why it have pr????? i thought because it was new and fresh then it should have no pr at all. damn i thought it was fresh... do you guys check the domain before you registered it?

It was an expired domain. I use archive.org to see if the domain has been registered.

I'm in the NPO area and I just registered a bunch of org names the past few week and I need to check them.
 
push2check (dot) net is a good site. Aggregates all kinds of good info you want to look at before buying a site. I use it fairly often.

Good Luck, hopefully the PR grate will stay...
 
do you think guys pr is good? i mean as what someone told above its a dropped domain...
 
PR is PR my friend, regardless. But quality content on your renewed domain matter equally as much, don't forget that.
 
There are hundred of Free PR domains available to register, (drooped, expired, deleted domains)
 
Buying a PR domain is good. Check how your domain used before by looking at its chche, just visit archive.org enter your URL and look for cached pages. Unless your have porn content you are good to go. Also look for backlinks pointing your domain and analyze your backlink profile. If you have links from spam site try to disavow those before starting your site. Host your site and check your domain is blocked by search engines by entering site:yourdomain.com in search box. You should see indexed pages of your domain. Don't do this just after hosting your domain,you probably won't see anything. Wait for some time to get it indexed.

Next time when you plan to buy new domain check its history. :-(
 
I found a really good pr2 expired domain name while checking the baclink profile. It has no single backlink.. hows that happened? I checked and its a real pr. Pls help id like to register it immidiately.

I hope all the one thousands backlinks pointing to your domain comes from porn websites.

Its strange, even I have found a PR2 domain available with no backlink and 2013 and no previous record. nothing else. no indexed.
Webarchive.org has 5 capture in 2013 but nothing only blank white pages.

Before purchasing a domain, I make sure I perform due diligence first. This might help you before purchasing one:
1. Check whois first to make sure if it has been previously registered.
2. Check in Google search, simply key in info:domain. If the result in Google does not match with the description of the domain that you're planning to buy, then it's fake PR.
3. You can also check the backlinks of the domain using Majestic SEO.
4. Check the backlinks of the domain. You should target at getting at least 2 or more backlinks with PR that is equal or higher than the domain you want to buy. This gives you guarantee that the domain will maintain its PR in case one of the links was removed as the other link would be sufficient.
5. Check if it has inner pages with page rank. You can use SEOQuake or Google search (type in site: domain name).
6. Check if it has drops. If it has drops, then it's not a good buy.
 
#5 on your check list is so important; those inner pages can have some good pull to them.

Hello "Initial Effort"
I have checked my PR2 domain as you suggested in thread. It is 5 year old domain with hosted with Godaddy. adding screenshot images with some details I have found but still I m noob so can not understand data a nd have no tools to check anything.
Domain name: EmpowerYogaOnline.com, PR2

I wanna know if I can redirect these domain for my website traffic and these both are for my niche.
