I see a lot of individuals promoting guest posting, while others focus on cold approach to site owners. From your experience, which technique is more beneficial in 2025 for generating quality backlinks that genuinely assist rankings?

Neither guest posting nor outreach links are universally better;
the most effective strategy depends on your specific goals,
budget, and time resources.

guest post vendors got crowded, most lists recycled, footprint heavy. cold outreach harder but lands cleaner links if u pitch right and niche-match. 2025, authority links stick better when u build convo with site owners not mass blast. slow but worth it.

Okay. Out of curiosity in your own experience have you found one approach to be more cost-effective or sustainable long-term?

If you can post something so valuable that peoples will make refference to you that will be better than any options you try for seo

In 2025 both approaches can work, but it really comes down to quality and relationships. Guest posting on relevant sites is still very effective because it usually gives you control over content and placement, and if the site has real traffic it adds credibility. Cold outreach can also work, especially if you have something genuinely valuable to offer, but it requires a strong pitch and persistence because most site owners get a lot of requests. Overall, combining both, guest posts where possible and thoughtful outreach elsewhere, tends to generate the best backlinks that actually help rankings.

You make a good point. When you suggest that combining the two is the most effective approach, do you typically run outreach and guest posts concurrently or first?

Still works if done on legit sites with real traffic cold outreach can land you some decent leads if you’re patient and build relations. I’d say relevance and authority of the site matter way more than the method itself.

Honestly, both kinda work… or don’t. Depends on the day, the niche, the moon phase maybe. Guest posts, outreach.. it's all just emailing people and hoping for the best anyway.

Excellent query. For my part, I was also wondering if it makes more sense to concentrate on increasing the legitimacy of guest articles before moving on to outreach, or if doing both at once saves time. How has your experience been with that?
