I am in the process of making an authority website. I'm not sure which theme would be best for one. I'm currently looking at the Themeforest magazine/newspaper style themes. Would this be suited for for an authority site or is it more of a blogger style theme. I'm pretty new so can you guys help guide me to the right direction? Thanks!

This is a tough question I think. With so many options. You could just download a bunch of free ones and play around with them. This way you can see first hand how they will look for what you got and want to do.
I guess it would really depend on what type of site you are planning to do. If its like travel or you are looking to post oftentimes and more catered to readers that likes a lot of photos, magazine style is the best. There are good business themes as well. For my site, I use thesis theme because I can make it to look whatever I like especially if you have a knowledge in coding.

I was having the same kind of dilemma earlier. After doing lots of research, I settled on the genesis framework by studiopress. So far I am more than happy with my choice, and I have purchased the package that offers lifetime access to all current and future themes they will release.
