i'm mostly using hetzner vps with cloudpanel nowadays. used to do the typical shared hosting thing with namecheap and hostgator but they throttle you the second you get any real traffic. hetzner is dirt cheap and the speed is insane compared to shared. support is pretty non-existent though so you gotta know how to manage a server yourself if something breaks.

Depends on the use-case; for simple SEO sites I will stick with budget providers like Namecheap and for cloud it's DigitalOcean - both are rock solid options.

If you want a host that will grow with you, look for track record, references, and what their services portfolio is like, if they own their infrastructure, if they can advise you with the setup and who manages their support.
Avoid too good to be true sounding deals as these usually result in extra charges in the next pay period and overselling the infrastructure.
Make you sure you know what you pay for and what you see is what you get.
If possible, avoid long term contracts unless you can properly trial the host and its plan performance.

Hetzner is fast like @Adsmith2026 said but their verification process is a nightmare and they do not tolerate any kind of abuse complaints. if you are doing anything slightly greyhat or scraping they will shut you down quick. Vultr or even Contabo are better alternatives if you want cheap VPS without the strict KYC. For basic landing pages and burner sites, namecheap is fine but yeah... stay away from anything owned by EIG / Newfold digital like Hostgator or Bluehost. They just oversell the servers until your sites take 5 seconds to load.

yeah stay far away from bluehost and hostgator, they are complete garbage nowadays. if you are doing basic seo or pbn stuff, namecheap is okay for a few burner domains but they will suspend you the second you get hit with any spam complaints. i mostly use vultr now with runcloud. its cheap, fast, and they dont ask too many questions unless you are doing some crazy illegal stuff. contabo used to be my go-to cheap option but their performance went downhill recently, way too many oversold nodes now...
