I've been using a host I found on here for a few months.
It's quite cheap and reliable but extremely slow and once or twice a month has connection errors.

I need something that is much faster. For now I only have one site/cms installation. Whats a good host which is quick?

Thanks

What's your budget?

WPX is pretty fast and great but not "cheap"...

Vultr can be cheap and fast but you'll need to manage everything on your own...

Use Litespeed webhost server that's great i'm using litespeed server from hostinger, google it about Litespeed hosting

I suggest you should use a2hosting or siteground they are fast and uptime are great

Have a look at the hosting section on here, some great hosts plus you have the benefit of them being a BHW member.

Thanks, I'm using hosting by a BHW member. Personally they handle questions, well and are very professional but their web hosting is extremely slow and gives me problems every few weeks.

Hi right now I pay £5-6 a month with unlimited space/bandwidth/emails/subdomains/SSL etc. I don't really need all that, cpanel would help, but I need enough for one CMS, with a few emails/subdomains, and need it to load much quicker than currently.

I've never heard of WPX, there hosting looks expensive? I don't even know what to look for when determining speed, its like my current host doesn't have the memory and I'm waiting for it to respond. How do I know another host wont be the same?

Over the years I've tried many.
Dreamhost, Bluehost, Hostgator and found all these were not great.
These days I use Interserver and am happy with them.
Instant support, no upfront fee and not expensive.
I recommend Interserver.

Take a look at Namecheap hosting.

I second that, these two are the best when it comes to shared web hosting
I was just about to use a2, when I saw that the price I was paying was 51% discounted and would go back to original price the month after. Effectively doubling the second month. If they arent going to continue the discount until I leave then I don't need to deal with that shady company.

Namecheap is your best bet. Godaddy has a $12 a year domain + hosting offer. Stay the heck away from hostgator.

Take a little look around there's a few web hosts on here I would suggest that also have recurring discounts of 50/75%.

Hey, regards!
I was a long time in this niche and I was using a lot of good web hosting providers... Deepend on what are your needs, every web hosting provider offer a variety of plans with different prices and also features.
Also what is important is that when you want to choose a web hosting provider, 2 very important metrics are from crucial importance, that is uptime and speed.
Hosts that I would highly recommend you are :
1) Bluehost
2)SiteGround
3)DreamHost ( it's cheapest one)
4) Hostinger(also one of the cheapest)
5) HostGator
These web hosting services are good for beginners and they are good if you are looking for a shared web hosting plan.

Sadly this also the case with siteground after the first year they will shock you with the renewal price ! but maybe you can use them for a year untill you learn how to manage your own server .
