Which verticals are hardest to run this year?

Many advertisers are now avoiding crypto on social platforms and nutra or sweepstakes on Facebook/TikTok due to high rejection rates and compliance hurdles.

Whether it’s nutra, crypto, gambling or sweepstakes - what verticals are giving you the most trouble in 2025?
Which ones are you avoiding entirely now?
Let’s share what’s hot and what’s high-risk.
I think supplements should be avoided, not to mention the risks however I feel it is unethical

The hardest part this year has been the crypto gambling industries which are tough while generating leads and planning to get past Meta checkpoints is even harder
These areas are very difficult to run ads, but we can still run them if we know how.

Honestly, crypto is getting harder to run clean unless you’re super compliant — approvals take forever and accounts are more likely to get flagged. Gambling is still tough unless you have strong cloaking or whitehat setups in approved GEOs. Nutra is hit or miss depending on the angle, but sweepstakes seem to be the riskiest right now — super strict on creative and landing page. I’m avoiding sweep and anything that needs cloaking full-time. Lead gen and UGC-style ecom offers feel a lot safer and still convert well when done right. Curious what others are seeing this year.

Many of friends who were in nutra and sweepstakes as full time for over last 7 years, nowadays they started media buying agency now, and I think it’s because their business might not be working well as compared to earlier.

CPA will keep getting tougher and may be almost impossible some day in the near future.

This year, industries like you mentioned continue to face great difficulties due to tight censorship, complex regulations and strict compliance requirements. Besides, regular scanning of BM and accounts is also a huge challenge.

Do you think Meta will always open a small door for these niches to exist? After all, it brings in a lot of revenue for Meta.

All sorts of industries like crypto, gambling, sweepstakes, and nutrition are getting harder to get into, but it’s still possible if you have a quality account and set it up properly. The key is a clean, trustworthy account with good control over both content and marketing channels.

nutra still tricky with all the bans n fb disapprovals. crypto’s a mess too, too many scam flags. i kinda gave up on sweeps, too high risk + low roi now. lately been focusing more on leadgen n whitehat ecom, safer n more stable.

  • Focus on high-converting niches like e-commerce and lead generation, which are more stable.
  • Consider server-side tracking (CAPI) to avoid platform restrictions on crypto and gambling.
  • Test alternative traffic sources beyond Facebook and Google for higher-risk verticals.

In 2025, crypto and gambling remain the toughest verticals due to strict ad policies and frequent bans; many now avoid them completely, while nutra and sweepstakes still work but require careful targeting and creative to stay compliant and profitable.

With the functional food, cryptocurrency, gambling and lottery industries, major advertising channels all have strict policies, you should not circumvent the law and take risks that can easily occur.

From what I’ve noticed this year, compliance around certain niches like gambling and crypto has been a lot stricter. Nutra also seems hit-or-miss depending on the region.

All the industries you mentioned above are products that violate FB policies, so you need to use ways to hide advertising content
With us there is currently no product that is difficult to operate, as long as you know how to operate it.
Yes I also think that just knowing how to hide violating content will make the ads work well
