Which Types of Posts Perform Best on Facebook?

The most effective Facebook posts are typically short, authentic videos with clear calls to action and eye-catching images.

Which is the "best" really depends on the Facebook at the time and the audience. I say at the time since at Facebook, videos (especially short-form, vertical) are currently getting a strong push from the algo so they tend to be the top driver right now, in keeping with other platforms if I had to guess. That said, FB and LinkedIn both value native posts (text + image or vids) typically more than external links since platforms wanna keep you on the site as much as possible. Surveys/polls can spark quick engagement but don’t always translate to deeper reach good for pulsing your audience though.

Just test across formats and lean on what performs best where for your specific audience. A dynamic approach is always best for these sorts of things because what works usually changes from time to time.

It's difficult to determine what actually engages people, whether it's links, text posts, videos, or surveys. Which kinds of content, in your opinion, receive the greatest interaction these days?

Currently my found short videos/Reels are still shown on FB with priority so natural interaction is better than text or post links. If the content is concise, strong hook in the first 3 seconds, accompanied by a simple CTA, likes/shares will attract more. Surveys (polls) will help increase comments faster, but re-approaching with videos is not certain.

For me, short videos and Reels usually get the best interaction. Lately I've noticed that videos grab attention way more than text or link posts

It really comes down to who your audience is and where you’re sharing, but short videos, simple polls or even a genuine personal story often spark the most interaction.

That's intriguing it seems like a powerful strategy to grab attention to combine a tale with a distinctive image. Do you think longer, more in depth postings also keep readers interested, or do you think shorter stories work better?

Short videos perform best on Facebook right now. They catch attention quickly, get higher reach and drive more engagement compared to regular posts.

From what I’ve noticed, native video still outperforms everything else on FB. Short clips with captions grab way more engagement than plain text or link drops. Polls can do well too, but links usually get the weakest reach.

From my experience posts that grab attention or spark some kind of feeling get way more interaction plain links or just text barely get noticed so it really depends on who you’re talking to

Great question! From what I’ve seen, short-form videos and reels are getting the highest engagement right now — they’re quick, entertaining, and easy to share. But at the same time, polls and surveys also do well because people like giving their opinions with just one click. I think the key is mixing formats: videos for reach, polls for interaction, and text posts for sparking deeper conversations.

Short-form video → Still king. TikTok-style reels and YouTube Shorts drive the most comments and shares.

In 2025, I see that short videos/Reels are still prioritized for display, so they often attract the most views, likes, and shares. Survey/poll posts also help increase comments quickly, especially in groups. Long text posts or external links have a lower reach, unless the content is extremely 'trendy'.

If your goal is to generate high engagement, I recommend posting short videos/Reels and concise image/infographic posts.

You need to carefully research your target customers, you must know what they need and like, then you can plan to approach and satisfy them in different ways.

Currently, short videos are the best type of content to attract interaction, followed by personal sharing posts and surveys. Links usually have low interaction unless running ads.

From what I’ve seen, short-form videos and visually engaging posts tend to get the best interaction right now. However, it really depends on the audience - some groups still respond well to text discussions or polls.
