Which tools are the safest to use? Virus potential

So the other night I was running scrapebox, and I picked up a virus while commenting on one of the sites. I don't blame the program scrapebox, I'd like to think it didn't contain spyware or else it would be well known, but it does go to potentially dangerous sites and probably has a lot of vulnerabilities in it.

So with that said, I was wondering what you guys think are the safest to most dangerous applications to run due to that? And potentially dangerous ones like Scrapebox, do you know of any settings to shut off, or ways to avoid the dangerous sites out there?

I want to pick up AMR but after my SB experience, I'm a little scared to even use that again at this point. Last thing I want is my HDD wiped from some virus it picks up along the way.

I'd say go with kaspersky or norton.

Both have trial versions as well.

Ahh damn, I didn't even see that add-on. Thanks, that will definitely help ease my mind a bit next time I run SB.

What about AMR? Seeing as they use a pre-set list, I assume it's generally a clean one?

Kaspersky is amazing. Don't get Norton, ever. Ever. Repeat after me: Never buy Norton ever.

Anywho, if you're worried about viruses, run everything through a VM sandbox.

Well, did the malware scan, but still got the "Windows Recovery" virus after a slow comment post blast. Looks like I'm going to avoid running that, or SB all together, from now on.

had no idea you can get viruses using scrapebox. Anyway, get an antivirus or use it on a vps. I use scrapebox all the time and had no problem.It's one of the best tools i've used

Yea I may have to get some software. I hate running them but it may be a needed program with these type of tools

Or, like someone suggested in another thread, run Scrapebox sandboxed with a program like Sandboxie.
