Which Tool to Research Keywords?

The only free tools I know are Google Keyword Planner and SEMRush keyword tool. Are these any good? Both seem to give quite different results when researched on the same keyword. Which is more trustworthy? or any other better free tool?

I use Market Samurai, there has been already shared here, and also with unlimited trial method and much more... just research a bit here on forum.
 
I use several tools in combination to find the very best keywords. Most of these are free that I use. Some have monthly fees though.

My personal favourites are:

  • Keyword Tool (keywordtool.io)-> lots of keyword suggestions fast (FREE)
  • Long Tail Pro/Platinum -> speeds up keyword competition analysis a lot (FREE TRIAL/PAID)
  • SEMrush -> see what your competitors are ranking for plus much more (FREE TRIAL/PAID)
  • Google Trends -> observe trends and keyword seasonality (FREE)

Long Tail Pro is great. Keyword Canine is also a great service but a little on the expensive side to me. It does make finding good keywords really easy though
 
I've LTP and MS, but I mostly use Market Samurai. As, all of the multiple features are at one place.
 
Google Keyword Tool and MS are the two I always fall back to in the end. SEMRush is definitely good though.
 
Google Keyword Tool, MOZ, Long Tail Pro are best as I know. SEMRush is also good.
 
I used google keyword planner and moz tools moz tool gives complete serp report for any keyword
 
I use Traffic Travis. It is suitable for mass keyword competition analysis.
 
I use Google Keyword Planner and Open Site Explorer for researching competition. Also i use some trick to research someone's data.
