If you are a beginner then i would recommend you to go for wordpress else go for Jhoomla...

Exactly. If you don't PRIMARILY design websites... If it's not something that you understand inside and out, I would suggest WordPress. Because it's easy, anybody can install it in 30 seconds, upload a theme in 10 and start posting content.
However, if you want more functionality out of your website.. You need it to be more universal, as well as more stable and secure.. Joomla. WordPress simply isn't as developed as Joomla is, they've got years on the WordPress platform which is still trying to convert from a blog to a true CMS... Which it still isn't. Joomla is a CMS, not a blog. It's more advanced and unless you thoroughly understand it, you can't just click and have a website up in 2 minutes.
...At times I do prefer WordPress, though. If I just need something there, or I'm not planning to do anything that will require any functional versatility other than looking pretty and sliding pictures around, WordPress is great. For POSTING content. Joomla is for MANAGING [different types of] content.
Drupal is over my head. I'm not big on programming.

Drupal if you're willing to learn a lot before you get started and have the money for a VPS or dedicated server (Drupal on shared hosting is not a good idea performance wise).
WordPress if you just want to get it done and don't need lots of serious features.

Wordpress is good for beginners and can expand to do a lot of things. Plus there are a lot of plugins out there to help put together a decent site. In my experience Wordpress can be used in many situations but can also reach some limitations. When that's the case I prefer to use Drupal. While it does have a steeper learning curve, it also provides a lot of flexibility and can be pretty powerful if you know how to use it
