As per the subject, I wanted to understand how you usually distribute your forces on social networks, because on the one hand common sense would say to concentrate on the most important ones, but on the other one might think that a bit of copy and paste is enough to stay on all without wasting too much time.
The first subdivision that comes to mind is understanding whether you want to post mainly photos or videos, although I wouldn't want to give up anything, I think I will post mostly pictures, but I don't know if I'm willing to give up the traffic that could come from Tik Tok.
Let's start with the images, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, and ImgUrl seem to be the main social networks, while I would exclude a priori platforms such as Flickr, VSCO, 500px, and Behance.
However, I don't know much about Snapchat, I don't know if it is possible to maintain a community and if it is worth doing, while at least in my case I went to exclude Deviant Art because perhaps they would not be images created by me but elaborated or reposted.
Did I forget someone important? Are there any of those listed that I could/should ignore because they are a waste of time?
As regards the videos, in addition to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit already mentioned in the images section, YouTube and TikTok naturally come to mind while the remaining others seem of little significance to me: for Snapchat the same doubt expressed on the photos applies, Vimeo or Daily Motiions seems more oriented to quality videos and Linkedin and Twitch seems to be usable only for very specific niches.
Did I forget something here too? Are there any platforms I could ignore?
Even if I don't plan to use these platforms today, on some of them is it still worth registering to "lock down" the user/channel name?
For the moment I wasn't interested in monetizing, I just wanted to understand if I could create an audience and then see later how I could earn money from it. However, would you advise me to register a domain straight away and start posting something on it?
If some of you post on different social networks, how do you deal with the different formats? (for example, some prefer square formats, others 2/3, 16/9, and so on, do you create different formats? Or do you post the same format everywhere with the risk that it will look bad somewhere?
The same goes for videos, do you focus on the vertical format that perhaps you can use both on TikTok and in YouTube shorts or do you try to diversify? (in videos there is certainly a lot more work to differentiate the format compared to photos)
