There are numerous options, including Ruby, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and JavaScript. Which scripting languages do you currently use for routine automation and rapid tooling, and why? Looking for the best return on investment for actual tasks?

For routine tasks and quick tools, Python is hard to beat. Its readability and massive collection of modules make it powerful for a wide range of needs. It's often the quickest way to get something working.

If you want to get a job quickly, you can go with the .NET programming language. But if you want to be a long-term programmer, you can go with JavaScript because it supports both backend and frontend development. However, Node.js backend servers can be slow because they handle only one request at a time. On the other hand, using .NET for backend programming would be better for creating servers that are super fast and can handle multiple requests simultaneously.
 
Python is my go-to in 2025 great ROI for automation, scraping, and quick tooling. Pair it with Bash or PowerShell depending on your OS for even more flexibility.
 
For everyday projects and simple tools, Python is tough to top. Its clear syntax and extensive libraries make it versatile and one of the fastest options for building solutions.
