which program you use to clean cookies ?

hi there,

is there a best list of those programs please, may you tell me withch one you use ?

i work with disk cleaner and ccleaner but each time 1 find more than the other so witch one is the "perfect" please.

I manually clean my cookies folder out,

I create a short on my desktop to the following folder

Code: 
"C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR WINDOWS PROFILE NAME]\Cookies"

Then I just open it up Select all and delete, I do this for a variety of reason one mainly being to check if my cookie stuffing links work properly before making them live.

is it normal i have always a cookie name "index" please ?
 
index.dat files are protected system files. Therefore you can not delete index.dat files as long as Windows is running.

So to get rid of these you will need some sort of software to accomplish this, I do worry too much about these so I don't worry about them, I don't have people snooping on my pc looking for these files.

It's basically a cache for the cookies that windows uses to point to the correct cookie file.

When I do system cleans is when i usually worry about them, because they just take up space and are useless.

hmmm where are all your cookies located in your computer?

i tried going to "C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR WINDOWS PROFILE NAME]\Cookies"
but all i was just was a .dat file..
 
Webroot's Window Washer is my app of choice for this. Cleans out everything with lots of options and can clean it with "bleach" as well up to 100 over-writes if you are super paranoid and so desire. Normally, when "cleaning things up", I use the Guttman level which is 35 over-writes. I've re-checked it with several excellent data recovery apps, and whatever got erased, is definitely and permanently gone. :cool:
 
I thought there is already an option for you to clean your cookies in the browser itself? :confused:

Yea there is.
Firefox is tools=>Clear privacy data=>select cookies
IE is tools=>Delete browsing history=>select cookies
 
That's what I used too. Why make such a simple task so complicated?
