Which pages to build backlinks for?

Hi,

I am wondering if there is any strategy to pick pages you want to build links for. Of course, I would like to have one of my top articles to rank. Would Google pick up a signal of me buying links if I only build my guest post links to my top pages?

Not necessarily. It is somehow obvious that your best pages are the ones that should get links, don't they?

I think that most people believe that Google is like an armonius orchestra that wants to be everything perfect and equilibrated. But Google foundations is based on the chaos of academic prevalence. Works with most citations are generally the ones that are the best ranked in libraries, and authors have serious variations between works. If all works from same author have the exact same number of citations, that would seriously look suspicious.

Thank you. I will be building guest post links with citations from my top performing articles, and also build some other types of links to random informational articles

Your main pages should be the top priority. Also bulid for other relevant pages as well for good results

Use common sense. Links goes to relevant pages and to root domain. Depends on what you are trying to do/rank, so its a bit subjective.

For example, i never link to my "tag" pages on tier 1, because they are "useless" as far as promotion goes. They have no content on it, and wont generate me any sales.

On tier 2 though, its a different setup... as im trying to "expand" my tier 1 - aka index as many pages as possible to empower the site overall - i do link to these types of pages (not only tags, but others too).

So, yeah, targeting your top pages on tier 1 should not be a footprint.

Your best made pages must be your top priority.

I usually point diversity links to homepage and yes you can build stronger links like PBNs or guest posts to high ranking pages to push them
