I must say you should go for the Windows server 2008 enterprise or stranded. These OS are best for the Black hat things.

I wanted to know since I was in quest of getting an new laptop since my old one is in very critical state. Is Macbook or Mac good for all the software we guys use or even other random programs we use for testing. I have used mac it looks and feels nice but only someone with some experience might wanna share their experience.

I have a Macbook with OS X and Windows 7, and a desktop with Windows 7 and Windows 7 / Linux VMs. I use Windows 7 more than anything. All the software I use is for Windows and the software I write is for Windows. Linux and OS X are great operating systems but I use them less and for other purposes than IM and SEO.

I think you can use any type of OS for Blackhat things But windows 2008 is very good for this type of things.

i would suggest Linux rather than Window for Blackhat Activities ... ( BACKTRACK ) is One of my Favorite

I guess linux is always better then windows OS, but the thing is I will not get the front end access in linux OS. So, setup the thing again will be difficult for me. I am new to such thing. What should I do ?

Yes, even I have the same thoughts but the thing is most of the user are using Windows server 2008 for black hat activity. I don't know why.

Can you explain why windows 2008 server is better then rest of the servers ?

I dont think its the key. If you know the basics you can handle anything just need some basic

There's only one OS important in Blackhat and that's OldSalt
For the rest: it depends on what you're planning to do.

For my own experience the best OS is Kali Linux, It has hundreds of tools to make web scraping and penetration

The reason most people use Windows server 2008 enterprise or stranded is because it's a OS built for "SERVERS" . Meaning it's built for computers to stay on 24/7. Which is perfect for tools like Scapebox , Xrumer and Hrefer ect. ect. , that depends on tasks that needs to be ran for long periods of time; sometimes even on schedules which benefits the user greatly .
