Hey guys,

would you use .org or .net if .com is not possible? Shop will be international. Not sure if this matters, but I thought I'd rather ask.

.net, however I would rather go with a name that has .com available, if possible.

.org maybe, but I would suggest going with a .com if the shop will be international.

Another suggestion would be a new TLD. I feel as if we need to keep a closer eye on the new TLD market, we've been running internal tests to see what's possible. I've seen many new TLDs popping up in the Google SERPs for specifically targeted markets globally. Categorical and location based results on a mass scale, I feel that's there much to learn. :ranger:

Thanks for a help guys. .Com is taken unfortunately, by some Chinesse guy, it doesn't work, so I just gave up and gonna try another one.

So probably I will pick .net even if .org sounds good too!

I wouldn't use a .org domain for a shop. For me it would be very shocking to find a profit company using a .org domain. I think it could affect Click Through Rate.

Forget about EMD and get yourself a good branded name with .com.

Second alternative of course would be .net.

.com - for commercial
.net - similiar to the above but made for more of services offered online
.org - non governmental, NGO e.t.c
.gov - Goverment
.edu - education
.info - Information related

Mind you, anything goes... It's just good to be professional.

If the .com is taken by some chinese I would never go with that domain name. Search for a new one.

I wouldn't use .org for a shop, .net is probably the best in your situation.

I also would suggest new TLD, if .com is gone. They rank quite well and help to branding your business.

Cheers
Dan

i would prefer .org over .net as net tld its intended to be used for network infrastructure

.net is a better option. org is a bad choice for trade niche

Are you simply looking to rank for certain keywords, or do you have plans to promote your brand?

I'd go .net but if you can get a similar domain with .com that may be the best idea as that is universally recognised by visitors so are more likely to get direct traffic from returning visitors.

I would have gone for .org, but if it's possible to buy the .com (maybe see if the the owner of .com is willing to negotiate?), then go for that.
