Which domain is better: [exact match keyword] with 2 hyphens in it OR keyword + another word, without hyphens?

And my second question - which one is better: dot net or dot org?

In my experience, Yahoo likes the domains with the hyphens and Google doesn't. That doesn't mean you can't get the hyphened domain to rank well in G but it will take more time/linking IMO.

I would go with ".net" over ".org" - just a personal preference. Both will do well.

    Hope that helps!

dont go with a domain that contains more than 1 hyphon in the main domain.

    A Major no no.

Google penalized the hyphen after realising most spam sites had hyphens in.
If your domain has 1 hyphen in, then it does still get a very slight penalty. Not alot but you DO get one.

2 hyphens and its a bit more, and so on

So, the domain with no hyphens but formed by the keyword + another word shoud rank better than the domain with 2 hyphens but formed only by the exact keyword?

EMDs (exact match domains) will soon get a slam from Google. So get a generic domain name including a part of keyword rather than exact type with hyphens.

You'll have a tough time finding a consensus on your original question. The one thing most people will agree on is the preference of an EMD above all else. Buy both domains (with and without the hyphens) and test them out. You'll see for yourself how it works...
