So, here's my problem,

My keyword phrase is xyz
emd is already taken(except .info and .biz), so I must choose between
x-y-z.com or yxzs.com (with s or d or x.com)

Which one to choose?

Thank you
:o

competition is weak

you are in need of trying different combinations*

buy all the combination and you will see the best one.

there is rumor that put an addition is lowering your emd chance. by adding "-", maybe thats better, but too many "-" is ugly. i ever see my competitor use xyzx than "-" and it ranks well. so then i created the mxyz, but the result is ugly. So i assume adding repetition of your kw in last place is better than adding non-your-kw in first or last place.

So, xyz +s.com is better than xyz.biz or xyz.info?

it is xyzx.xom not xyzz.com. last "x" is the same kw for the first x, but the last "s" is totally different. but it depend on the kw, if it's a product, then put last "s" is best, "s" like a review, cheap, discount, coupon, or anything realted to buying term.

xyz.info is still an exact match. I would personally go with that one. xyz.com is obviously better, but .info can rank well. I have even seen many EMD .info domains for sale at high prices for good keywords.

.info is a waste of time. Just get the emd and put an i or e in front of it.

Hi,

There are different angles you can look upon when doing competitor analysis. And the tools you need may depend on which angle you want to see about the competition.

For instance, if you want to look on how well the on-page optimization has been by your competitors, you may use the websitegrader as well as aboutus sites. These sites provides free on-page analysis on a site's homepage.

Moreover, if you want to look at how the competition are linking back to their pages and where they've placed their links on, you can use blacklinkwatch and linkdiagnosis - both tools are working perfect for backlink analysis.

Hope that helps.. Cheers!

I have noticed that backlinkwatch has been struggling lately. They were based on yahoo site explorer i believe (which is no longer around). I did a search on there recently and it definitely showed way less backlinks than it used to show for a competitor's site. However, there were results. I like linkdiagnosis as simona recommended (you have to get their plugin to get the full reporting ability).
