Depends, most smartlinks don't accept chat traffic cause it doesn't convert, cause the affiliate usually tries to convince people to sign up by chatting.
Other networks are ok with it as long as they're somewhat valuable leads, you just have to ask the affiliate network you're working with specifically.

smartlinks is better at first until you know how to present targeted advertising to a target audience of which you collect information on them in advance
