Hello,

ovh vs hostgator.

For dedicated server, I know ovh is alot cheaper for better server specs, but I'm afraid I will do something wrong.

I just go with ovh, is firewall a must to have ? cause it will cost an extra $200 for firewall, is it necessary.

I suppose hostgator is better than ovh. Check out eleven2 host server, or myhosting server . You can find lot of options on interent when getting servers. Godaddy has a long list too.
 
I think Hostgator is best because it is reliable and excellent customer support and very famous also.

you don't need that. That is an hardware firewall, you can install a software one, but you don't really need it

OVH has a terrible support, they usually give just predefined replies and after 24 hours
 
I prefer Hostgator, friend recommended once never went back.
 
newbies.....how hard is it to read the date on a thread?!
 
ovh is pretty cheap, but they give you only one IP adress, so if you want more IPs you have to pay for them. By the way ovh's service is the worst I have seen
