I'm new here and don't really have any experience in making money online but started off with a videogame blog in January this year. I started off with probably 10 views a day and managed to get that number up to around 1,500 a day in April. I was making money but not a lot, I initially made the blog on wordpress.com meaning I couldn't advertise other than the crappy wordads system they have in place and I ended up earning around $120 for the four months I kept it active. I thought this was poor and so I abandoned the site to venture in to other ways of making money.

I have been lurking here for a while and tried using amazon affiliates on review posts I did via my old site but so far have made a measly $50 in 6 weeks. My site has dropped to around 150-200 visitors a day but I guess this is to be expected because I haven't posted any content for around 7 weeks. I then tried ebay arbitrage, sourcing products on amazon and from dropshippers in China with small success. I currently have 18 products listed on ebay and make 4-5 sales a day each earning me a profit of between £1.50 to £3.00.

Should I scale up the ebay plan considering I'm making money with a few items or is there a way to monetize my site further? I understand no-one has to reply but any input will be appreciated as I don't really have any direction and no real knowledge of monetizing a website (I initially created it because I enjoy games rather than for money).

Keep up the arbitrage thing, maybe sell on other markets then ebay... your own shop, amazon, etc.

You might want to try something else as it seems like you aren't making much money right now. In my opinion the easiest place to start is either through a niche blog (which you've tried) or dropshipping, maybe you should consider giving the latter a shot.

I think you had a good thing going on with that blog (I'd like to know what exactly you did to get that many visitors on a wordpress.com site). By your own domain and hosting, preferably the same name as the wordpress.com one and transfer your site over (remember to redirect the old traffic to your new domain). Then simply build up the traffic again and put more ads on the site also the occasional cpa offer.

I tried the whole wordpress transfer thing but I ended up creating an entirely new site, this site looks pretty good but I've found it hard to maintain traffic and an interest in writing so gave up on that too. I was worrying about transferring my original blog over as I didn't really know what I was doing and I lost interest after a while so maybe I'll look in to it again. I got most of my traffic by posting to N4G as they allow sites with semi-decent content to be published on there and I seem to have return visitors even now. A lot of traffic was from commenting on other blogs etc. My 10 reasons to own an xbox one post had around 20,000 views and still gets views but I didn't monetize this as I should of done.

Thank you for those who have responded! I'm here to learn so any input helps
