Depends on the application and your skill level. If you need pure speed and little user input use C++ although trust me it's not an easy language to code in. If your skill level is low and you're not a programmer already go with vb.net as it's a high level langusge and easier to code in although slower. Best would be learn both VB for nice easy to create screen and any heavy lifting done by calling .dll created with C++.

I've not looked at it but you could also look at the Adobe AIR platform after all Market Samurai was written in it.

Either c# or vb.net will do. If you want to make bot or scraper, go with c# since there are a lot of sample code available online.

If you want to learn fast and develop application quick then VB.net is always good

C#.Net and VB.Net can do the same things with slightly different syntax. C# is faster for coding as you don't have to type as much. I wouldn't go with anything other than one of those 2 picks for win apps. The way to pick is to do a small beginners tutorial on both of the languages and see which one you like the best.

Both the languages are good as .net is using CLR , I think it depends on your skill but i would prefer c#
