I found a 2 word phrase that gets a good amount of searches per month. The .net is available. For SEO purposes, would you go for the 2 word phrase with the .net or would you enter a word after it like "keywordreview.com" or "keywordtips.com" in order to get the .com?

Which will be easier to rank for that 2 word phrase? I can't decide :/

If both keyword.com and keyword.org are not available I would go with keyword.net too, else keyword.co.uk (.co.uk TLD seems to have good authority and rank good too) keyword.com is better than beywordsomething.com same as .org, .net etc. keep that in mind. I hope that helps

Your keyword is 2 word phrase which you wants to target... So yo need them in your domain for easy ranking... .net is OK

If you want you can add tips and review... it will become 3 word phrase... still i don't see any problem with it and you get .com domain for doing it...

For example your 2 word phrase is cellulite removal... you can get celluliteremoval.net or you can buy celluliteremovaltips.com

Both are good name and will help in seo, you might get more value attaching 3rd phrase with it... search for it if review or tips along with keyword phrase get also search volume... You might get more visitors doing it....

I have a site with 4 word phrase plus 1 word to get .com domain still it is very easy to remember it...it get good amount of search... very few links and we are showing up in result... ranking in yahoo, Google - in some country we are even in top rank... any way it's early and we are not ranking very good right now but it's still getting 150-250 organic searches on it's own which i believe is very good... That 4 word phrase is very competitive and got heavy search result... :D

I would personally go with the 2 word phrase and the .net. If that phrase is being searched, shouldn't be a problem with the .net.

i would definetely go for .net since there are searches available for it. but have you checked keywordreview.com to see if there are any searches for that?

Thank you everyone. I went with the .net and I'll see how that ranks. I searched keywordreviews.com and adding reviews to it didn't generate many searches.

Very good information, I'll definitely switch it up in the future and test different keywords to see how I rank.

Is there a keyword/url hierachy best pratice that we could follow? For example;

1. exactmatch.com
2. exactmatch.org
3. exactmatch.net

(I recently read that the .org is actually better than .com these days)

4. exactmatchsuffix.com
5. exactmatchsuffix.org
6. exactmatchsuffix.net

7. prefixexactmatch.com
8. prefixexactmatch.org
9. prefixexactmatch.net

What would be the best order for this list from an SEO perspective?

Also does it matter how long the URL is I mean as long as the target keyword phrase is in the URL whether it be 2,3,4,5+ words in length just as long as the word your targeting gets enough traffic to make the building of the site and getting the necessary backlinks worth while?

if you are planning to sell something , you need pick .com .
