Which keyword analysis tool do you trust the most?

Hey guys,

im a newb out there searching for good keywords and i did read a lot about good keywords and try to manually scan the search results each time, but nevertheless i like to see what some tools say about that. Looking for some keyword i saw that some programs have really different opinions about keyword difficulty. While keywordrevealer told me for one keyword it has super low competition of 13 on their scale i guess, SEMRush did told me that the same keyword has a keyword difficulty of ~89% which tells me that i should not even try to rank it. The keyword has some e-commerce and amazon in top 10, which makes me believe that i should not try to rank for that, what do you guys mean?

It really depends on what you are looking for when you say Tool. There are a lot of third party tools out there, even places like moz, but you'd be better of hitting G's keyword tools, they have improved it a lot. Maybe try moz for keyword analysis
 
There is no tool out there that will provide 100% accurate keyword competition. They are all based on a "score" that is generated by taking into account page links, their metrics (most of them are useless and can be manipulated easily especially PA/DA), etc... The only way to accurately determine competition is by doing it manually and using 3rd party backlink checkers: Moz, Ahrefs, Majestic & Semrush. Even then you might miss a few things such as hidden PBN-s, backlinks that aren't indexed yet by these tools, etc... Also, when you determine competition, you need to pay attention to relevancy of search results as well, not just backlinks and most tools out there don't even consider this in their score algorithm.
 
If there are e-commerce sites in the top10 which have a high DA but compared to that low PA and nearly zero backlinks, is it hard to outrank them?

There are plenty of choices on the market today for keyword research. My favorite keyword research tools are SEOmoz, keywordtool.io, & GKT.

Especially, if you are into PPC I recommended for the Google AdWords keyword tool.

keywordtool.io helps you to dig deeper in the particular topic. But it doesn't available for trail, still you can use it with Google Keyword Planner to figure out the search volume.
 
I had the exact same question some weeks ago, let me save your weeks of research :D

You need to understant that Kw competition research can't be done with a program. Yes, you can filter with one the really bad ones, but to fin the good ones, you need to look also on page 2,3...etc.
To find the good ones you need to use your own brain.

You did not tell us how many top 10 pages were actually targetting that Kw. If some high DA and estabilished pages are targetting that exact Kw, well... it will be har my friend... Also look on page 2,3,...etc to search if there is some other IMer trying to rank for the same Kw and not suceeding, because he is hold back by the highDA websites on page 1.

Manual way is the most accurate imo. Keyword tools failed me many times in the past.

1. Look at the top 5 guys dominating your search terms.

2. Open their websites and source codes and analyze their on-page.

3. Use backlink analyzing tools with huge backlink databases (Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs etc.) to analyze their backlink profile.
- Look at their anchor text ratio to check how aggressively they're going after the keyword.
- Look at their backlinks to see if you're able to do the same + slightly more/better
- Always assume at least 10% of referring domains is hidden PBN that's checkers can't see
- Always assume backlinks checkers only show you only 80% backlinks max

4. Make a correlation between on-page and off-page. Are they ranking randomly or purposefully

5. What's ranking? Homepage or inner page? Is the inner page part of huge authority site? (Wikipedia, Amazon, Adobe..)

etc.
 
I have been testing keysearch for past 3 days and I found it pretty good, I think you can just sign up for a free trial and see how it goes.
 
Also imo Keysearch is better than KwRevealer. You can use it in combination with LTP :D
 
Tools are only good for gathering all the information for you to analyze. It all comes down to you looking at those stats/numbers and deciding which keywords are easy or hard.

If you are relying on a "difficulty indicator", you are risking building up a site and investing into it only to find out there are 5-6 competitors that have their backlinks hidden, so they look like they have 0 links where in fact they are dominating the niche.
 
i use adwords keyword planner which suppose to be the most accurate and even they tell you that the information is not perfect and a lot of it are just suggestions.
 
There is no keyword tool that provide 100% accurate keyword for our use. You can use third party backlink like moz, majestic, semrush ahrefs etc. From this tools you can try moz. It is better from all of this.
 
I dont think any tool will decide the best,suggest go with Manual search that would be perfect for you.
